Optimizing Content for Mobile Shopping

Transcription

When creating content on mobile, we also lose a little bit of control of the order of our content. For example, on the desktop version of the same store, we can see the two columns of content, the banner on the left with the brand slogan, and then the two product categories on the right, the next set of content tiles flips this order.

When we switch to mobile pay attention to how the mobile store renders this content. First, we have the square banner with the slogan. Next, we have the top two flavor categories. When we scroll further, we can see that the flavors continued before we get to the second large square image tile. This is because of the way Amazon orders the content.

The order of the content goes from left to right and top to down, just like reading. This is something important to pay attention to when designing your store, especially if you’re being intentional about grouping certain pieces of content together.
