Vendor Central: Contesting Chargebacks and Invoice Reconciliation
Transcription
Once your purchase orders have been collected from Amazon, you would think that the next thing you would need to worry about is your invoicing. However, there are several chargebacks related to the transportation process. Namely pick-up accuracy, no-show import shipment, late booking. Import PO on time non-compliance and import documents, late delivery.
show moreA pickup accuracy defect is triggered when a collect LTL or less than truckload shipment misses the scheduled pickup date or the freight is not provided when the Amazon appointed carrier arrives on the collection date. You may see this defect in the operational performance dashboard. However, it is not being assessed for charges at this time for every active Amazon reference number or ARN, Amazon monitors pick accuracy issues.
If the scheduled pickup date has passed without a success or pickup an Amazon reference number associated. With at least one failed pickup attempt will likely be abandoned and no further pickup attempts will be made until a new routing request is submitted. If you request to reschedule to a date later than the freight ready date or FRD provided in your routing request, Amazon will mark the defects late pickup reason as vendor requests be schedule.
If you do not request to reschedule and fail to produce freight. When carrier truck shows up on the scheduled pickup date, Amazon will mark the defects late pickup reason as no freight at pickup, you can prevent this defect by always injuring an accurate freight ready date in your routing request, ensuring your LTL or less than truckload shipments.
Are prepped for loading at 8:00 AM local time of the scheduled pickup date. And if you receive a reminder email on the morning of the planned pick date, reply to all, to confirm your freight is ready or to request reschedule. If freight is not ready, this reply to all process is being rolled out in stages.
Note that while rescheduling is still considered a defect as freight is not being provided on the freight ready date in the routing request, it allows Amazon to lower the defect cost by repurposing truck capacity and preventing unnecessary carrier dry runs. The carrier passes on the dry run costs to Amazon, which can be passed onto vendors and ultimately onto end consumers.
Amazon uses input from your routing request to select the optimal carrier allocate transportation capacity and reserve fulfillment center, labor and doc. Any failure to honor your self-declared freight ready date leads to vendor lead time volatility, carrier planning, disruptions elevated transportation costs, capacity utilization issue and eventually jeopardizes your mutual goal to maintain optimal inventory levels to serve customer demand.
