A chargeback occurs when a buyer is unhappy with the product they have ordered and receives from Amazon and contacts their bank to dispute the charge. Chargebacks is also referred to as a charge dispute. These claims are another metric that affects seller performance.

The reasons vary and can include issues like the customer not receiving the product on the other-hand.
Amazon is responsible for any payment related fraud, chargeback issues. So if a credit card was stolen or other fraudulent attempts were made on the account, this would fall under Amazon’s responsibilities. To prevent chargeback claims from happening in the first place, it’s important to follow these recommended best practices.
The first is to be sure and use a shipping address provided to you by Amazon. You are liable for any dispute filed for orders you send to a different shipping address. You also should be sure the shipping method has a valid tracking number so that you can track it along its journey. If your item has a high value and is deemed expensive, merchandise use a delivery confirmation method that requires a signature.
And lastly, keep a record of the date the order was sheet. The shipping method used and any available tracking information for at least six months after the order date.
