When launching a new product on Amazon obtaining your first product review or increasing the number of reviews may be an initial concern. Reviews are vital for the success of your products. And with that reviews, there’s a slim chance of making any sales. But how do you get reviews? If you need reviews to get sales and sales, to obtain reviews.
show moreIt’s the old catch 22 Amazon knows that the reviews are crucial for making sales. Amazon does want you to be successful on their selling platform. The more products that are sold, the more money Amazon earns. So Amazon is supporting brands that have launched new products with an early reviewer program or ERP for short, this program helps brands on the seller central platform.
Overcome the hurdle of acquiring early reviews. So you can get some attraction. Here’s how it works in order to be included in the program. There are some important factors to consider. The first is that only skews with fewer than five reviews are eligible. The second is standalone ACE and or parent level ASINs are allowed.
For those products that are set up as variations, children are automatically enrolled with the parent. ASEN remember the variations, all share the same reviews. So enrollment is necessary at the parents level. Third offer price to customer must be greater than $9. If the price falls below $9, Amazon may not licit reviews from those customers that purchase below the $9 threshold.
Fourth ERP is only open to sellers on the seller central or 3P platform. The fifth is brands must be based in the United States. And for sale on amazon.com. If you have listed a skew to sell in the United States, as well as other marketplaces, who can still enroll the product in this, but Amazon will only request reviews from customers who purchase a skew on amazon.com or amazon.com UK.
And lastly, six, the brand must be registered with the Amazon brand register. Now that, you know, if you’re eligible here is a step-by-step process of how to set it up on the backend of seller central within seller central click on the advertising tab and then early reviewer program. Next, download the CSV file, then fill out the template.
And save the document back within seller central upload the completed file. Check back on status. Or until the product received five reviews from the ERP program. So even if organic reviews are generated during the program, period, ERP will continue until five reviews are received from it. Also as with all Amazon programs, there are guidelines that need to be met to keep the program in good standings.
Here are a few. The first is the program is not open to Amazon employees, participating sellers and friends and family. The second is sellers are not allowed to influence the content or star ratings of the customer reviews. The third is sellers are prohibited from communicating with customers about their reviews.
Amazon does not modify or remove reviews from the early reviewer program, as long as they comply with the community guidelines. And lastly, you may not advertise that your products are enrolled in the early reviewer program for most brands. It’s a low cost way to gather initial reviews. You are only pay a one-time charge of $60 for each parent ASEN on your seller central account.
And you’ll only pay once. The first review has been received. Once you are successfully enrolled in the program, you are not able to cancel enrollment. And if the program generates at least one review, but not five. The one-time fee of $60 still applies. It’s a fairly simple approach to get the review wheels in motion reviews are an important factor to help shoppers make smarter buying decisions.
The early review program is one way to overcome the challenge of getting first reviews. But remember, ERP is a way to obtain a verified review, an honest customer feedback. But it doesn’t guarantee a positive review.
