What might not be commonly known is that stores allow us to use a custom mobile layout when uploading images. We’re going to go into the back end of the store’s builder to show you what this looks like. Let’s create a new image tile for this page on baskets. Amazon lets us know here that a resolution of 1500 pixels tall and 3000 pixels wide is the best high resolution display for all devices.

First, we are going to upload an image with a wide landscape formatted resolution. This image is 3000 by 1500 pixels. Now we want to upload our vertically formatted image. Scroll down to the used custom mobile layout section here.
Amazon recommends uploading image. That is 1,680 pixels wide and between 20 and 3000 pixels in height. The image that we will be uploading is 1920 pixels by 2,880 pixels.
Now let’s compare the live store on desktop versus mobile. Starting first on desktop, we can see the imagery uploaded is nice and big and comfortably fills the screen. Moving onto the mobile device. We can now see the vertical image that we uploaded since the image was exported as a portrait image, it also fills the screen very nicely and provides a much bigger impact than if this image was uploaded with the landscape and intention.
