Amazon does post specifications and guidelines that sellers must adhere to. When, on the seller central and vendor central platforms in this final module, we will provide an overview of the guidelines for creating detail page copy.
It’s important to note that Amazon does alter these requirements and they do vary by category. So it’s imperative to make sure your listings are adhering to their specifications. Otherwise, Amazon has been known to suppress listings and even accounts. As we reviewed earlier, the title is a critical component for your detailed page listing and not only aids in search rankings.
It is the first point of contact with a potential new customer to engage them in your brand and entice them to want to learn more. In the resource section we provided the specifications directly from Amazon that will aid in writing titles that are within their requirements. But here we will review four very important ones.
Not adhering to these four will cause a possibility for suspension. The first one is titles plus not exceed 200 characters. Amazon recommend fewer than 80 per title. This character count does include spaces. So it doesn’t leave much room for writing compelling copy, but it is still very important to do so.
