How could they know what products are top sellers? One simple approach is to look at the number of reviews. Our product has received.

We can see here that bestseller banner, when searching for men sneakers, this search result reveals seven products being flagged as best sellers, right on the first page.

Amazon’s complex algorithm chooses to categories best seller through the number of sales to product generate. Positive reviews and a complex number of other metrics known only to Amazon bestseller rankings change frequently in some cases hourly.
And they are only measured against items within that specific category. We see here, the number one product within clothes, shoes, and jewelry for men is different from the number one product and clothes, shoes, and jewelry for women. The sub category has changed. Therefore the ranking has changed as well.
Best-sellers can also be viewed through this bestseller page that only lists the most popular products by category. You can see the complete listing of subcategories on the left side of the page, by clicking on clothes, shoes, and jewelry, then men then choose then athletic, then fitness and training in the number one spot is a new balance sneaker we saw earlier.
Amazon also uses other banners called Amazon’s choice or number one new release to denote top category sellers. We can see an example here with this running shoe Amazon’s choice, automatically selects products based on prime eligibility, reviews, pricing, fallibility, and other criteria. There is no application or enrollment for Amazon’s choice.
And the selection process for these categories is another one of Amazon’s mysteries, the Badger peers, and disappears on product detail pages. It’s relatively unknown, why some items are chosen over others. So I word of caution when using these flags as a gauge to measure another brands competitive. It’s easy to see how this information can be a valuable gauge for a shopper and an online selling environment.
They can see how successful a product is without having the ability to touch or feel firsthand. The quality of an item. On the other hand bestsellers also provide valuable information for brands. A combination of top selling brands together on one page provides a snapshot into competitors who are successfully selling within your space.

Here we see that this new balance sneaker is ranked number 196 and the top level of clothing, shoes, and jewelry. It’s number one in men’s cross training shoes and number 74 in men shops.
