Nothing hurts your credibility more than poor quality images and today’s world of instant, everything. We all expect. High quality imagery with quick loading times images should be clear without any pixilation or distortion, meaning the image was stretched horizontally or vertically. In this store example for an epoxy company, this hero banner utilizes three unconvincing images.
show moreThe image on the left shows products overlaid onto a table, but it is clear that the image has been manipulated to include the products. Well, this method is perfectly acceptable when done convincingly. This example shows the downside of this strategy. The brand loses credibility when they don’t use their own resources to create imagery of their products and use the image at the middle is the most accessible, the three, and it clearly shows the table has had an epoxy treatment since the level of gloss is so high.
The image on the right has several elements that aren’t working, the composition and background of the piece of what was shot on is distracting. And doesn’t look intently. They failed to remove a kitchen appliance in the background as well. The photos also slightly rotated, which looks unprofessional altogether.
This banner doesn’t convey confidence in this brand and the products that they offer this hero image is above the fold. And it’s the first thing people see on the store. And as a space or a first impressions are everything. High quality images are so important because it is so easy to leave your start page.
