Vendor Central: Contesting Chargebacks and Invoice Reconciliation

Reconciling all relevant financial items on your vendor central account is only possible by running a control document of sorts off a vendor central. You can choose to do this in any format, but we are going to use an example of our own to indicate how you can reconcile all pertinent information regarding your finances through purchase orders, invoices, chargebacks, shortages, co-op deductions, and remittances from your vendor central account.
show moreAnd it all begins with a backup report. A backup report is a report that vendor central generates, which lists all line items recorded by Amazon, from your purchase orders for any given month. It is important to note, first off that some of your purchase orders will not appear on this backup report for the month you ship them in.
If they shipped towards the end of the month, as Amazon’s fulfillment centers, may not yet have scanned them in or receipted them. The control documents you generate will be able to show you which of your purchase orders will only appear in the next month’s back report. Your backup report is also where Amazon basis, your co-op deduction, invoices on for each of your co-op agreements.
As co-op deductions are generally deducted from net receipts per month. This report becomes pivotal in reconciling these co-op invoices and deductions, as well as everything else pertaining to your financial status on vendor central, the backup report can be found on your co-op dashboard, which you select from the dropdown menu of your payments tab on your top menu of your vendor, central dashboard.
You can view and search with an all co-op invoices by selecting the invoices tab at the top left hand corner of your carb dashboard page, or you can view all your agreements by selecting the agreements details tab alongside it. Note that there is search criteria for both tabs where you can search for something specific.
The agreement details tab covers all current agreements you have with Amazon or deductions from your invoices and remittances. You can also view your current co-op agreements by clicking the yellow. See your co-op agreements button on the top right hand corner of your co-op dashboard page.
Under your invoices tab, you will see a table below showing all your co-op invoices submitted to date. To the rights of each are three clickable document links, download invoices PDF, download invoices Excel, and backup report. Note that your PDF version of the invoice is normally emailed to you. And is the reminder for you to log-on to vendor central and download the backup report.
The first step is to click on backup report and download the full report for that month. It is also important to note that all backup reports for all invoices generated on the same date are identical. So you only need one of these reports to create your control document form.
